2026 AI Impact Award Winner: ProCan

Last year, Children’s Medical Research Institute’s (CMRI) ProCan cancer research project was supported with $1million worth of ResetData's sovereign AI services. The project sought to use AI compute capability to better understand the molecular characteristics of cancer and investigate how those characteristics could be used to predict patient outcomes and treatment response.

Over the course of the year, the team at CMRI and ProCan have demonstrated the calibre of Australian research expertise. Leveraging ResetData’s high-performance AI compute, the ProCan team have accelerated by sixfold the analysis of their database cancer protein data, which is one of the largest of its kind worldwide.

“We started digitising pathology microscope slides right from the beginning of the ProCan project in the hope that one day the computation would become available to allow us to solve the problem of connecting the information embedded in the slides with the protein data,”

“That day has arrived now because that’s exactly what the ResetData computation power is allowing us to do. By combining our unique proteomic data and pathology resources with ResetData’s cutting-edge AI, we’re unlocking new possibilities for personalised treatment planning that has the potential to benefit every cancer patient.”
